Members of the 6th Colwyn Bay Cubs and Beavers who were presented with their First Aid Badges after helping out with the Christmas decorations at the Merton Place care home in Colwyn Bay
Members of the Sixth Colwyn Bay Cubs and Beavers proved their commitment to helping others when they volunteered to decorate the Christmas Trees at a local care home last week.
Twenty-four young people and their pack leaders visited the Merton Place care home in Pwllycrochan Avenue, Colwyn Bay to help out on festive duties.
“They did an absolutely brilliant job and the residents really enjoyed their company. They even helped us eat a few of the chocolates off the tree too!” said Valarie Smith, Activities Coordinator at the home, which is managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association.
Not only were the home’s Christmas trees decorated in fine style, but the children were also presented with First Aid badges which they had recently worked hard to achieve.
Care home Manager, Christina Hale added: “It’s lovely to welcome visitors throughout the year and we have a busy programme of Christmas events where it’s lovely to welcome friends from the local community as well as family members and other friends.”
